From the town of Sperryville, head six miles south along Route 231, passing rolling hills and grazing horses with miles and miles of Blue Ridge Mountains as the backdrop. Aptly christened one of Virginia’s Scenic Byways, F.T. Valley Road (Rt. 231) will take your breath away with its views.

Rent an Airbnb or book a room in an inn or bed and breakfast in Rappahannock, Culpeper, or Madison County.
Day One:
Up for a challenge?
Wake up early, pack a lunch and lots of water and hit the trail. Old Rag Mountain is one of Virginia’s most challenging hikes and offers extraordinary views of the surrounding mountains and countryside. In this nine mile trek, there is a significant elevation change and a strenuous rock scramble that requires good upper body strength.
Or, if you’re in the mood for some exercise and fresh air but would prefer a half-day excursion, try White Oak Canyon.
Day Two:
Stop by our orchard to pick some of the crisp, juicy apples you’ve ever tasted.
Our first apples of the season will be ready for picking in late August.
Spend the morning perusing through the many antiques shops, art galleries and boutiques in Sperryville.
