Located 80 miles west of our Nation’s Capital, family-owned F. T. Valley Farm is the perfect destination if you’re looking for fresh country air and local charm. From the town of Sperryville, you’ll head six miles south along Route 231, passing rolling hills and grazing horses with miles and miles of Blue Ridge Mountains as the backdrop. Aptly christened one of Virginia’s Scenic Byways, F.T. Valley Road (Rt. 231) will take your breath away with its views.
You’ll find freshly-picked peaches and apples in our market, along with F. T. Valley Farm grass-fed beef, Stoned Creek Pork, and Rucker Farm free-range chicken. Our shelves are stocked with apple butter, apple sauce, peach salsa, barbecue sauce and more, all made with fruit from our orchard. We aim to support small, local businesses and provide our customers with products made with fresh, whole ingredients. If you are a honey connoisseur, you’re in luck. We sell Rappahannock Arboreal Raw Honey, extracted from honeycomb, strained for wax and debris, and nothing else. Want to add some heat to your grilled meats? Try some Carolina Reaper Infused Honey from Windsong Apiaries. Need some snacks for your hike? Pick up some Gardens of Khmet trail mix or savory dried tomatoes. For our furry four-legged customers, we now carry healthy, small-batch dog treats from North Woods. We proudly sell artisanal, hand-crafted soaps, candles, pottery, and baskets. The paintings in our market are for sale; we are fortunate to display some of Judy Heiser’s pieces, as well as those by some aspiring new local artists.

Wake up early, pack a lunch and lots of water and hit the trail. Old Rag Mountain is one of Virginia’s most challenging hikes and offers extraordinary views of the surrounding mountains and countryside. In this nine mile trek, there is a significant elevation change and a strenuous rock scramble that requires good upper body strength.
Or, if you’re in the mood for some exercise and fresh air but would prefer a half-day excursion, try White Oak Canyon.
Our first apples of the season will be ready for picking in late August.
Spend the morning perusing through the many antiques shops, art galleries and boutiques in Sperryville.
